Sprouts Cookie Butter Stuffed French Toast

With Valentine’s Day literally right around the corner (tomorrow) why not wake your sweetie up with this sweet breakfast featuring Sprouts cookie butter.

If you aren’t familiar with cookie butter, in a nutshell its cookies that have been pulverized into a spread allowing you to use it in various ways. If you’ve ever had Nutella, I would say the sweetness and consistency would be the same. Now when the idea was proposed to me by Sprouts to create a recipe using their line of cookie butter, I initially couldn’t think of what I wanted to do.

After having a conversation with my mom, an amazing cook by the way, I came up with the idea to do stuffed French toast. I decided to use Challah bread which is braided Jewish bread that is typically eaten on Sabbath or Jewish holidays. The bread, when sliced into thick pieces, is great for this recipe since you will have the super sweet center. I recommend using this bread anytime you decide to stuff French toast.

So let’s cut the chit chat and get to the recipe that I’m sure you babe will love ❤️

  • 4-6 thick slices of Challah bread
  • 13oz jar of Sprouts Cookie Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • Butter
  • Powered Sugar (Optional)
  • Fresh berries (Optional)

Whisk eggs and milk in a shallow bowl or dish.  Place the slices in the egg mixture and then flip coating both sides evenly.

Heat a large skillet or griddle on medium heat and add in the butter. *You don’t want the skillet/griddle too hot or your french toast will burn.  Add the bread and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Flip and cook for about another 3-4 minutes more.

Remove the bread from the griddle or pan and spread the cookie butter on 1 slice and top it with another slice making a sandwich. The cookie butter melts pretty easily from the warmth of the bread.

Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar and top with berries (both optional). 

In all honesty the cookie butter is pretty sweet so you really shouldn’t need any syrup.
