Any opportunity I can find to escape Atlanta I take it. So when I had the chance to visit The National Tavern located at Reynolds Lake Oconee, I was beyond excited to not only explore yet another restaurant in another city, but to also visit the quiet and peaceful lake community just an hour East of Atlanta.
Located in the The National Golf Village overlooking the finishing hole of the National Golf course, The National Tavern opened last Fall to rave reviews. This casual style restaurant with leather chairs and wood all throughout, is led by Certified Master Chef Derin Moore with assistance from Chef de Cuisine Matt Mimbs. Although it is the South, the menu is diverse incorporating global flavors and is suitable for all palates, with offerings like artisan pizzas and fennel glazed salmon.
