Atlas Restaurant located inside of the St. Regis Buckhead is for sure one of my favorite places to have drinks, hang out on the patio and now for dinner. With the launch of Atlas Restaurant New Summer Three-Course Menu, Atlas has made having dinner there just a little more affordable. At $65 per person, you can sit out on the patio or in the gorgeous dining room to enjoy the deliciously beautiful dishes created by Executive Chef Christopher Grossman.
The ambiance is amazing at Atlas, but I am also astounded at the service. The entire staff is awesome and you can expect nothing but top-notch service. If you love wine, I recommend adding the wine pairing with the Summer Menu for an additional $40. The in-house Sommelier will perfectly pair a wine with each course and will provide you with a full explanation of the wine notes and its origin.
I’ve mentioned that I am not the biggest fan of bread, but the bread service at Atlas Restaurant is impeccable. I recommend getting the pretzel bread or the cheese rolls.
Going a little off Atlas Restaurant New Summer Three-Course Menu, I wanted to have a taste of the fettuccine Alfredo that is on the regular menu as a starter. Surprisingly, it is not prepared with heavy cream, but instead lots of butter and cheese. The hand-made pasta was paired with some gorgeous and sweet heirloom tomatoes, cippollini mushrooms and squash blossoms. Although the dish doesn’t have any cream, the heavy use of the butter still gave it a richness that you would feel should heavy cream had been added.
The first course on Atlas Restaurant New Summer Three-Course Menu, is the Summer Melon Gazpacho. Presentation is everything and Chef Christopher is amazing at it! This beautiful dish has a perfectly seared scallop served with compressed watermelon, finger lime, marinated heirloom tomatoes and garnished with cilantro. What I love most about this dish is how light and refreshing it is. The watermelon pieces had almost a char-grilled flavor to it that added an extra amount of sweetness. The melon gazpacho is served cold and is drizzled onto your plate table side.
The second-course and my favorite dish of the night was the Border Springs Lamb. It laid on a bed of Summer field pea succotash and was served with grilled beef ribs, field pea falafel’s and garnished with a ramp chimichurri. I need a moment of silence for the lamb and ribs lol. The lamb was prepared perfectly to my liking and the meat for the ribs were falling off the bone. The Summer field peas were not over prepared and still had a nice crunch to them and the buttermilk soubise added a saucy and rich texture. Ramps are a type of onion and when prepared in a chimichurri sauce it added a nice somewhat garlicky flavor. From the presentation to the flavors and textures, I’d have to say the dish is absolutely perfect!
The finale was the home-made raspberry hibiscus donuts. Atlas Restaurant does desserts right and they are always creative. These yeast donuts are filled with a raspberry jam and topped with a hibiscus glaze and served with a cheesecake ice cream with fresh blueberries and blackberries. You would think that donuts would be heavy, but in this case not at all! They are actually quite light and fluffy. It’s not overly sweet, but I would instead describe the dish as being more tart than anything. The small scoop of cheesecake ice cream that laid on top of some crushed graham crackers….I am obsessed with! It literally taste like you were eating cheesecake. It was super creamy and with the crushed graham crackers it balanced the textures.
