Bezoria Mediterranean Grill has opened its newest location in Alpharetta right across from the Avalon mixed-use space. It has become more important than ever that people have healthy and fresh food options and Bezoria provides it, but in a fast-casual restaurant setting at an affordable price. The menu features Eastern Mediterranean cuisine like falafel, house made pitas and shawarma.
All of Bezoria’s items are prepared in-house. So that would include the juices, breads, sauces, hummus, falafel, chicken and lamb. The concept is similar to Chipotle in that once you decide what you’d like to order, you pick out the various toppings and sauces you’d like to add.
I was able to sample some of Bezoria’s customer favorites and they just might be my favorites now too! If you are looking for a sandwich, the chicken shawarma is excellent. The fluffy and soft house-made pita bread is stuffed with fire-roasted boneless chicken that is thinly sliced and can then be filled with whatever toppings you like. You can add items like, cabbage slaw, spiced onions, tomato and cucumber salad and zesty hummus. Sauces you can also add includes tahini, garlic and Sahara which is a hot sauce. I say play around with the toppings. There’s so much to choose from that you can pretty much have it prepared a different way every time you visit.
As for sides, I highly recommend the hand-cut fries. They are fried to order and seasoned with sumac and served with a curry sauce for dipping. Another menu must try is the falafel. I’ve had a lot of falafel from various restaurants around the city and I have to say that these are by far the best I’ve had. They are fried to order and are crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. They have just enough flavor and seasoning to be eaten alone, but a side of the tahini or garlic sauce would be great as well.
If it is your first time visiting Bezoria it may be hard to decide what to order. So in that case, I recommend ordering the Bezoria Feast. This dish gives you a chance to sample a little bit of everything. In a bowl you have layered, basmati rice, zesty hummus, chicken and steak shawarma, chicken kefta, 3 falafels, tomato and cucumber salad, cabbage slaw and tahini and garlic sauce served on the side. You can also get this served as a salad by having the basmati rice swapped out for lettuce.
Keeping with the healthy and fresh theme, Bezoria has several juices and teas on hand to enjoy. My personal obsession is the Rosewater Lemonade. It’s floral with just a hint of lemon flavor but not overly sweet. It gives you such a refreshing feeling and is perfect for the warmer months. Some of the juices and teas are swapped out seasonally as well.
Next to anything chocolate, baklava is one of my favorite desserts and Bezoria did not disappoint. This delicious dessert of thin layers of phyllo dough with nuts and honey is also made fresh at the restaurant.
What I love most about Bezoria, are the many options and how fresh all the ingredients are. Happily Eating gives me so many wonderful opportunities to try restaurants, but it can be overwhelming for the body. I love that more and more restaurants are thinking about those who want to live a healthier lifestyle. Although, I probably won’t ever be that person to eat salads every day, I’m glad that a restaurant like Bezoria makes it easy for me when I do. Who says healthy can’t taste good?
